School 2.0 and Moving Education Forward

Stumbled across School 2.0 via a teachers twitter feed we follow (Teach42, pretty tech savvy teacher from Chicago), I had never seen it before. From the site:

The School 2.0 eToolkit is designed to help schools, districts and communities develop a common education vision for the future and to explore how that vision can be supported by technology. The name School 2.0 was chosen to encourage a discussion about the next generation of school that can be supported by an integrated technology infrastructure.

The program was financed by the Department of Education and offers a couple to tools for the future of education. The one that sticks out to me the most after playing around with the site is the Reflection Tool. It provides you (you being either a school principle or school CTO) with a questionnaire that is designed to give you an idea of how well you are integrating technology into the curriculum and school. Kind of a nice tool to jump start the School 2.0 movement.

Overall, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but worth checking out if you’re a tech aware educator, principal, or PTA parent being as it also has the ability to provide for an entire district or school.
